Foundation of the League of Red Combatants

On 18 July 1924 in Halle, the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) founds the „League of Red Combatants“ (RFB) and calls on „all class-conscious workers“ to join. Ernst Thälmann is elected as its chairman. The RFB, whose members wear uniforms, reject the Weimar Republic and advocate a proletarian revolution in Germany.
