On 4 April 1936 Adolf Hitler names Herman Göring to be the Reich’s Commissioner for Raw Materials and Currency Matters. With this appointment Göring becomes Hitler’s most important man for implementing the Four-Year Plan which is announced at the Reich Party Convention in September.
