Opening of the „German Art Exhibit“ in Munich

On 18 July 1937 Adolf Hitler opens the „Great German Art Exhibit“ in the newly constructed „House of German Art“ in Munich. The exhibit displays only works of „Arian art“, some of which the „Führer“ chose personally. By contrast there is no room for foreign artists and works of modern artists. In fact they are mocked in a propaganda exhibit on „degenerate art“ which opens in Munich at the same time.
