Proclamations of the Queen's Accession took place in many parts of the UK, but none was more poignant than at Windsor Castle where the late King had spent so much of his time with his young children |
But the coronation of Elizabeth II does not occur until 2 June 1953. At the express wish of the heir to the throne, the solemn ceremony in Westminster Abbey will also broadcast on television. Millions of people will watch the Europe-wide live broadcast. This will be the first cooperative project of the „European Broadcasting Association“, founded in 1950, from which the „Eurovision Network“ will emerge in 1954.
