The „Trusteeship Indivisible Germany – Committee for Questions of Reunification, reg. org.“ is founded on 14 June 1954 in Bad Neuenahr. The non-partisan association of representatives from the political, economic and cultural sectors is intended to uphold the idea of German reunification at home and abroad. One of the best-known activities of the trusteeship will be the call to place a burning candle in every window on New Year’s Eve to commemorate German unity. Paul Löbe (SPD) is chosen to be the first president of the trusteeship.
