Wannsee Conference
In late July 1941 the head of the Main Office of Reich Security, Reinhard Heydrich, was entrusted by the leadership of the “Third Reich” with the „Final Solution of the Jewish problem“. Since that time over 500,000 Jews in Poland and the Soviet Union had already been murdered. On 20 January 1942 Heydrich meets with state secretaries and other high functionaries of the Nazi state in a house on Berlin’s Wannsee Lake to plan the systematic destruction of all members of the Jewish nation throughout Europe. The meeting will go down in history as the „Wannsee Conference“.
