Withdrawal of the Allied Air Force Supervisory Commission

On 5 May 1922, the allied „Air Force Supervisory Commission“ withdraws from Germany. Before that it had overseen the destruction of 14,000 airplanes. Article 198 of the Versailles Peace Treaty allows the German Reich to have in future neither land-based nor naval-based air forces at its disposal.
